Make it count - ‘Next Step’ With G Adventures

Saturday afternoon just gone I was sitting on the beach for hours with one of my best friends, we were discussing the impermanent nature of life and how 'when we were younger' (that sentence itself makes me feel old, but what is age?) we used to have countdowns looking forward to certain events or certain holidays. We both agreed that now life is just propelling forward at an alarming rate and we hardly get time to look forward to a holiday, it's more just a crazy rush to throw everything in a suitcase the night before (sometimes I've done it the morning of) and go, go, go!

We're in November, almost december, and life has been an absolute whirlwind - Where does the time even go?

At 27 I find myself thinking about a "quarter life crisis" as my entire world has been flipped upside down in the last 12 months; personally this year I've learnt A LOT about myself and unfortunately through some really hard lessons in life. I've often felt like I was drowning under the weight of it all. Yes, I'm fortunate enough to have done a lot of travelling with my job, but where do I get time to S L O W D O W N and relax... for me?

Shouldn't this be the time? Stop running around and just stand still. Perhaps there wont be another opportunity the same. Perhaps not another tomorrow.

I've consciously tried to make an effort to do more things for "me," to take the time off to spend enjoying the moment. To not permanently have my phone attached to my hand or be worrying about the things I can't control.

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist that is all
— Oscar Wilde

Actively seeking to spend more time connecting with people, talking to strangers and just being outdoors. To make a difference. To see more, feel more and to do more.

To make each step count. You can travel your own backyard or you can find yourself dreaming about places you want to go and then you can actually make those dreams a reality. Right N O W.

SO in exciting news I've collaborated with G Adventures to do exactly that and make the "next step count."

***The G Adventures ‘Make Your #NextStep Count’ competition has now closed but you still have a chance to take the next step and choose to travel with a purpose. For more information visit here.
